The VIVO: Next Fellowship is designed to inspire the next generation of musicians through hands-on professional experience and close mentorship within a community-centered chamber music festival.

Program Highlights
  • Fellows will be featured at the season finale concert at the historic Southern Theatre. The Violin and Viola Fellows will perform alongside VIVO Artists, including an original work by the VIVO: Next Composition Fellow.
  • Collaborate with the VIVO team to design and present outreach performances in Central Ohio schools
  • Gain real-world entrepreneurial experience tailored to individual interests, learning directly from VIVO Directors about planning and producing a music festival
  • Fellows will receive lessons and coachings from the Season 12 VIVO Artists throughout festival week.
Additional Benefits
  • Travel to Columbus and housing provided by VIVO Music Festival
  • A $1,500 honorarium awarded to each Fellow

Eligibility Requirements
  • Open to one violinist, violist, and an Ohio-based composer who demonstrate exceptional musicianship, and an interest in chamber music and musical entrepreneurship
  • Participants must be current students or recent graduates of collegiate-level music programs. The Composition Fellow must be studying or working in Ohio. Candidates must be eligible for employment in the United States.
  • Participants should be actively pursuing a career in music and should share in VIVO's mission to build community through world-class chamber music

  • Application Materials must be submitted via email by Friday, March 13, 2026 at 5:00 pm to Suzanne Jennison at suzanne@vivofestival.org
  • Selected candidates will participate in a video interview prior to final selection
  • Violin and Viola Fellow: Submit a resume, and high-quality videos of two works: one solo with or without piano and one contrasting work (chamber music performance highly encouraged)
  • Composition Fellow (Ohio-Based): Submit a resume, and recordings and PDF scores of 3 pieces
